Well we’re into the New Year now and planning is under way.
Michelle, Owen and I had a very productive meeting this morning in Costa at the Fife Central Retail Park on the outskirts of Kirkcaldy. We like this location for our meetings as Costa staff are always very accepting of transgender folk.
Owen is enjoying being involved in helping the group to move forward. We reflected on recent group meetings and put together some useful ideas for the future.
We will be having a “Suggestions Box” at future group meetings, so if there is anything you think we can do to improve the experience or offer more by way of help and support and would like to remain anonymous (as opposed to bringing it up in group chat) do please drop a note in and we’ll consider everything that comes up.
The confirmation of the date for Fife Pride 2020 should come through during the next week and we’ll keep you informed as soon as we hear about it. We want to have a large, visible presence there this year so planning will start effective the February meeting.
Trans Pride Scotland have just announced the details of this year’s event. It will be held in Paisley on 28th March 2020 and will be centered on the Student’s Union of the University of the West of Scotland. We hope that Fife will be well represented! 😀
Michelle and myself will both be representing the group at LGBT+ discussions over the next couple of weeks, spreading visibility of the group and hopefully picking up some useful information too.
We have applied for a small grant from the Lottery Fund and are keeping our fingers crossed that “our numbers come up”.
Keep following the blog because we can see that this year is going to be really busy and we don’t want anyone to miss out.
Stay safe!
